Common Conditions
Many of the conditions treated by Myotherapists involve the muscles, nerves and joints in some way. Muscle contracture, as a result of trigger points and/or taut bands, manifests itself as local and/or referred pain.
This may be caused by trauma, ageing, overload or misuse of muscles arising from occupational, sporting and recreational activities, or congenital factors such as skeletal abnormality or asymmetry.
Disorders within the systems of the body can also cause muscular type pain, which may include chronic fatigue, post viral myalgic conditions, fibromyalgia or vitamin deficiency.
Some conditions commonly treated by Myotherapists include;
- muscular aches and pains; occupational, stress, anxiety
- postural abnormalities; structural or functional
- injury rehabilitation; sprains, strains, fractures, dislocations, tears, ruptures
